How to deposit a check on your desktop application?

  1. Access your Qonto account,

  2. Click on the Check section, then on Deposit a check,

  3. Fill in the check information,

  4. Send us your check by mail within 2 weeks to the address that appears on your screen. If we do not receive the check in time, we won’t be able to register the transaction.

  2. Click on Deposit a check and follow the instructions,

  3. Fill in the check information,

  4. Send us your check by mail within 2 weeks to the address that appears on your screen. If we do not receive the check in time, we won’t be able to register the transaction.

Note: You need to endorse (sign on the back) a check to deposit it.

The amount collected by check cannot exceed €30,000 per 30 running days, within the limit of €15,000 per single check. Checks must be made out to the legal company name (therefore, make sure it matches the name on your Qonto account). We are currently working to resolve this limitation.

How long does it take to deposit a check?

Upon receipt of your cheque by mail, our team will proceed to some verification before sending it for collection.

This period is usually of 2 to 4 business days. Its status will then change from "pending" to "received". You can follow the cashing steps directly from your application in the "Checks" section.

Once your cheque is marked as "received", the cashing period can be up to 8 working days for the majority of cheques under €3500.
However, it is possible that, in the context of random checks, this period may be extended to 15 working days.


For cheques over €3,500, the cashing period is 15 working days.
This is a processing and verification period for the cheque, which is necessary for security reasons.

During this period, the emitter of the cheque has the right to dispute or report it as stolen.

In this case, the cashing of the cheque is rejected and we must immediately return the funds to the debtor.

We are fully aware that these deadlines may not be appropriate for your business.

Therefore, we recommend you to rather use transfers with which your account can be credited within 48 working hours.

How can I cash-in a check above €15,000?

You can cash-in checks above €15,000. In this case, the process is different than the standard procedure for checks of smaller amounts.

Does Qonto allow check payments?

As of today, you won’t be receiving a checkbook when you open a Qonto account.

We advise you to use transfer payments, which offer more advantages, both in efficiency and security.
