How to change my Qonto subscription plan or billing frequency?

You can change your Qonto plan and/or billing frequency at any time, either from your mobile app or your computer.

For each plan, you have two billing options:

  • Monthly billing,

  • Annual billing (this means a single payment for a 12-month commitment, in exchange for a discounted rate!)

⚠️ Important: We recommend waiting until the day before the last day of your annual commitment before changing your billing frequency. The remaining period of the annual commitment that you have already paid for will not be refunded, and you will be charged again monthly for the amount of your new plan.

☝️ Good to know: the annual plan is automatically renewed if you don't modify it before the last day.

Summary:

I want to change my Qonto plan

🖥️ From your computer: go to Settings (bottom left) > Billing and invoices > Price plan details.

📲 From your mobile app: go to Menu > “⚙️” > Plan.

Then:

  1. Select Change plan.

  2. Compare our offers by navigating between our plans for freelancers and our team plans for SMEs and Startups, according to your needs.

  3. Select the desired plan, then confirm your choice by clicking the Choose button.

💡 Good to know: If you do not have sufficient funds in your account before changing your plan or billing frequency, you will be blocked at the payment step.

⚠️ Important: Check the billing frequency selected (monthly or annual) using the purple switch at the top of your screen before confirming your choice. By default, this billing mode will be set to annual billing.

I want to update my billing frequency (monthly or annual)

To change the billing frequency,

  1. Follow the steps above (change plan)

  2. Then, before confirming, make sure you have selected the desired frequency ("Monthly" or "Annual") via the purple switch at the top of your screen.

If you only want to change the frequency without changing your plan, first click on "Change plan", then select the new frequency. The button of your plan will change to "Switch to annual" or "Switch to monthly". Then press this button to confirm your choice.

How am I billed if I change my Qonto plan or billing frequency?

When you change your plan (e.g., switching from the Basic plan to the Smart plan), the effect (added/removed features) is immediate.

Changing plan while keeping monthly billing:

If you have opted for a higher plan, you are charged for the corresponding supplement and vice versa if you have opted for a lower plan, you are refunded the prorated difference (based on the number of days remaining in the current month) between your two plans.

Changing plan while keeping annual billing:

You can change your plan during your commitment, but you will not be refunded for the period already paid, even if you opt for a lower plan. Your renewal date remains the same.

⚠️ Therefore, it is recommended to wait until the end of the commitment if you want to opt for a lower plan.

If you opt for a higher plan: you are charged pro-rata for the difference between your old plan and your new plan until the renewal date.

Switching from annual to monthly billing with or without changing the plan:

You are immediately billed for your monthly plan, prorated for the current month. The annual plan already paid is not refunded.

⚠️ Therefore, it is recommended to wait until the end of the commitment if you want to opt for a monthly plan.

Switching from monthly to annual billing with or without changing the plan:

You are immediately billed for 11 months as well as the remaining days of the current month.

For example: if you subscribe on the 15th of the month, you will not pay for 12 full months but 11 months and 15 days, in a single payment.

The monthly fee billed at the beginning of the month is included in the annual fee.

💡 At the end of your commitment, and without any changes from you, your annual plan will be automatically renewed for 12 months

💡 Good to know: If you are currently on your one-month free trial (30 days are offered when opening a Qonto account excluding the Business Creator plan), you can change your plan/billing frequency as many times as you want, free of charge. Take advantage of this to discover the plan that suits you best!
