You can ask for the closure of your account directly from your Qonto web application if:
You are the account holder;
You have working credentials to gain access to your Qonto web application;
The account you want to close is active;
There are no collective proceedings (legal redress, judicial liquidation, etc.) in progress;
There is not any term deposit account is active (only for French companies). 💡 For more explanation on closing your term deposit account, read this article.

How to close your main account?
To close your main account, follow these steps from your computer:
Go to Settings & Tools in your Qonto web application.
Navigate to the Account settings section.
Click on Price plan details.
Click on the Close Account button.
Follow the instructions on the closing confirmation page.
☝️ Important details:
The final closure of your account will occur on the last day of the current month. If you submit the closure request on the last day of the month, it will be scheduled for the last day of the following month.
Ensure that your account balance is €0 and there are no pending transactions (transfers, card payments, check deposits) before the last day of the month.
If any conditions are not met, the closure will be postponed to the last day of the next month, and you will be billed for an additional month.
Closing your account on the last day of the month will result in the immediate deactivation of your IBAN(s) and cards, preventing further transfers.
Cancellation of Account Closure
You can cancel your account closure at any time before the due date. To do so, go back to Price plan details and click on Cancel Closing.
Access to Transaction History and Statements
Even after your account is closed, you will have unlimited read-only access to retrieve your transaction history and account statements.
How to Delete a Multiple Account
For Smart, Premium, Essential, Business, and Enterprise users with the multiple account feature:
Ensure the account has a zero balance (€0).
Make sure there are no pending transactions or check deposits linked to the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:
Go to the Accounts section in your Qonto web application.
Select the account you want to delete.
Click on the three dots at the top right of the box.
Confirm the account deletion by entering the code received via SMS.
☝️ Important note:
A closed account is permanently deactivated and cannot be reactivated in the future. Once an account is closed, any transfers made to it will be automatically returned to the sender.
Access to Transaction History and Statements
Even if your account is deactivated, you will still have access to the transaction history and statements of the account.
Closure Email
If you did not initiate the closure of your account, you will find all the relevant information in the closure email, including your exact closure date.
